15 IDOLS WE LOVE TO WORSHIP

 For people who strive to live by Biblical standards, the very 1st. and most important commandment is: "Do not worship any other gods besides me. Do not make idols of any kind."(Ex. 20; Deut.5)

Idol Worship is when something or someone is more cherished than our relationship with God. Why does God demand our worship? Is His ego so fragile that He needs our worship?

God is the Source of all life, the Creator and Sustainer of theUniverse. God provides purpose, purity, design, intelligence and destiny. God is Love, Light, Spirit and Truth. God determines the length of our days on earth. We are His creation, made in His Image. God desires to share His Goodness with His creation, He doesn't need anything, but He demands harmony with His perfection.

As one theologian observed, "When a person is passionate about sports, we call them a fan. When a person is passionate about Jesus, we call them a fanatic!"

MANY THINGS ON THIS LIST ARE GOOD AND NECESSARY FOR A HEALTHY AND FULFILLING LIFE. JUST REMEMBER THAT EVERYTHING ON THIS LIST IS TEMPORAL, ONLY OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS ETERNAL.

I am a retired Christian pastor and clinical therapist. Along with my wife of 50 years, we have invested our lives in providing counseling and encouragement to anyone who desires our help. 1. ISRAEL IS THE OPPRESSIVE OCCUPIERS OF THE PALESTINIAN ARABS. Jews are the only people to inhabit the same land, speak the same language, retain the same religion and celebrate the same customs for almost 3,000 years.
